Wishes Part 3

We are on our way to a wish. My daughter and I informed her social worker that she was "ready." The Make a Wish people called me this week to verify info and get the process started. They will then send the information to Wish Granters from our area who will then contact us to meet my daughter and ask her about her special wish.

Hi,
I just discovered your blog. I am a 41-year-old woman living with HIV. I was infected by a boyfriend when I was 18 (1986). My first and foremost grief concerning my diagnosis then was that I would not live long enough to have children. Now my grief is that I am living to be to old to. I would love to adopt or foster a positive child or a child with AIDS, but I am single and am not in a situation to have one of my own (biologic) or take in someone else's. I am grateful that I did not have one a long time ago that I wouldn't have been able to take care of well enough, but I am not prepared for this longing I thought I let die a long time ago. I have only read a little bit of what you've written so far--I'll probably take it slow--but thank you for letting me in on a little of it. Take care.
